Polaris 570 CASEVAC Project

An organisation reached out with the intent of acquiring some Ex-Army Yamaha Grizzly 450's and trailers for casualty evacuation in Ukraine. Due to the specific user requirements, conditions and parts availability (in central Europe) I recommended a more powerful and newer platform for the task - focusing on the Polaris 570 Sportsman. The end design and modifications consisted of the following:

A custom NATO stretched litter mounted across the rear rack

Black-out system for all lights and dash

Infrared Lights - Front and Rear

Additional Stretcher mounts for carriage

Rifle mounts

Recovery pack

Transport and tiedown pack

Ramp/gap crossing set

Polaris DBAT 6x6: Modelled on the Australian SAS 6x6 platforms.
JT 73 AA was originally in service with the British Army as one of the few and rare examples of a diesel quad. Based on the Polaris Big Boss 6x6 chassis, a UK conversion from Barras replaced the petrol engine with a Yanmar Diesel option, whilst not the quickest, the additional torque provided a advantage in difficult terrain. This particular machine went through a nut and bolt restoration, which then focused on producing a nod to the legendary Australian SAS 6x6 platforms used in the early years of Afghanistan. Complete with 50 Cal HMG, LAW 66, mortar ammunition storage, fuel, water and ammunition storage, rifle storage and an in house designed and built support weapons mount and paint job.
